Abstract of Porphyria's Murder Case

Ms. Porphyria Blank, a 21 year old young lady was found dead at the cottage owned by Mr. John Doe, 25, at five in the morning. The police were notified, at the course of midnight, that Ms. Porphyria was missing since eleven o' clock in her room where the dinner party was held in honour of the approaching wedding between Ms. Porphyria and Mr. Roger Weston (the former's fiance). Officers Bailey and Hodge apprehended Mr. John Doe since he was caught in the act, holding the body of Ms. Porphyria in his arms and pleaded guilty of his crime through his repetition of words, "I killed her because I love her." The Blank family knew Mr. John Doe as Ms. Porphyria's lover. Autopsy reported, as per the dead body of Ms. Porphyria, that the corpse died of strangulation caused by the latter's own hair itself. The hair isn't pulled too much from the scalp, there were no signs of struggle from the victim, and the victim is killed through great strength of compression meaning the victim died easily. The autopsy signs indicate that the victim isn't forced to her death. The victim is killed experiencing little to no pain indicating that the killer intended to kill her gradually, so that she would not suffer in a long time the physical feeling of her death.

Mr. Weston denied to answer interrogations. He must be knowledgeable of the affair that her future wife had and somehow guilty of her death. The Blank family, who chose to accuse Mr. Doe, must've forced Ms. Porphyria to love Mr. Weston. They spoke of Mr. Doe as Ms. Porphyria's stalker whom Ms. Porphyria doesn't return her feelings for. However, judging from the fact that Mr. Doe only lives at a 'cottage', the Blank family considered wealth for their daughter's future and chose Mr. Weston instead of Mr. Doe to take their daughter's hand. If it is proven that the lady escaped based on her dripping cloak and shawl, then she went to the house of Mr. Doe at the first place (only Mr. Doe's cloak, shawl or any of his clothes isn't wet). She is then, have a secret affair with Mr. Doe. She can be proven guilty of her own death because she chose to die peacefully at Mr. Doe's arms and she is not forced when killed based on the autopsy report. The circumstances of her engagement with Mr. Wetson is her motive of killing herself because although she is a lover of Mr. Doe whom she meets secretly even though it was midnight and was the middle of her engagement, she was forced by the Blank family to love someone whom she doesn't want to get commited into. As a result, she would rather choose to kill herself in the arms of the one whom she truly loved.

But the court judged that Mr. Doe is the one who is proven guilty of the crime. The crime is moreof focusing on the facts and evidences presented at hand and not on investigative motive since the court relies on society's laws. The court chose the angle that Mr. Doe killed Ms. Porphyria because of his unnatural possessiveness. Therefore, Mr. Doe was sentenced even though he only killed Ms. Porphyria since he wants to end her emotional suffering.
