Collateral Beauty Film Review
Collateral Beauty is a film of beauty presenting the essence of life enchantment. Directed by David Frankel, it presents the significance of time, love and death in people's lives. The movie is enriching with morals that are driven upon real experiences. It entails the life of Howard, a black american working as an executive officer, who believed clearly that love, time and death exist and must be spoken unto. The death of his daughter, one day, changed his life as he was separated with his wife too. He undergone depression because of this, then hates everyone thereafter. His co-workers planned for the re-growth of his own happiness and so they made him believe through letters that time, love and death aren't lies. That in reality, these are tangible.
The story solidifies a great impact to its viewers since viewers can relate to the life that is bound by death and time; but is enchanted by love. The story is new: although it can relate to a classic literature named, "A Christmas Carol" where past, present and future are symbolized instead. The whole story is magnificently narrated throughout the movie. It gives a big impression to new fairytales. Only it defines the peak of the life in the most valued way.
The film's theme or subject is about family and life. It was depicted that Howard will really do everything so that his daughter can survive. He sends letters to "death" where it reads his wish that death must take him instead of his daughter. The purpose of the story is to reach viewers and tell them the lesson of "how important is love" despite the world's suffering. Peace in mind is what makes a person unique, that's a hidden message. The film is a unique story that touches the hearts of everyone who will watch it.
The actors gave justice to their characters at some point. Equality is observed since the actors are from different races. The actors were pretty good at delivering their styles. It really makes viewers thirst for more.
The cinematography's angle focuses on minimalistic tendencies on-screen, though the lightings that were used are superb. The photography managed to be presnted in good quality as it caught the attention of one's eye.
The movie reaches the stakes of what can you expect from it. The title makes you crazier, but the movie tend to be crazier if you'll watch.
